I'm not sure what the point of these really unhelpful Logitech messages are in this forum - would it not be more useful to put the SOLUTION IN HERE!!
I have been using and recommending the Logitech 9000 Pro for AGES and having no problems with it on Windows 7 AT ALL with SKYPE or OOVOO. I've bought the C910 and it freezes quite regularly in SKYPE - on the same Windows 7 machine - sometimes coming back to life, sometimes not. Today I had to move it to another USB port (directly in back of my modern Dell computer) - not some extension.... to get it to come back to life AT ALL.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this camera as the quality is great but it's just NOT reliable. Can someone at Logitech please tell me either how to get it to work with Skype and Windows 7 reliably or how we can all get refunds?

Hi Scargill,
I'm very sorry for the bad experience you have encountered with the C910. At this time I suggest you contact our call center so they can further evaluate your issue either with the troubleshooting or the refund.
Thanks,

Hi all,
Another possible solution you could try is upgrading to the latest version of Skype (5.3). Also, does the camera work in another third-party application?
Best Regards,

I've just started having the problem described in this thread myself. Everything was working fine and out of the blue my video started freezing up last night. I'm pretty sure the 1-2 minutes everyone is seeing is when Skype is trying to jump from SD to HD.
I've been doing some troubleshooting and so far I'm still stumped. Here's what I've got:
Problem happens on this machine....
Win7 Pro (x64) SP1
i7 930 CPU @ 2.8 GHz
8 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 9800GT
Skype 5.3.0.111
Logictech driver v13.25.1014.0
Internet: Verizon FiOS 35/35 mb/s
With C910, video freezes after 1-2 minutes, the time frame when Skype ususally goes to HD.
A C510 plugged in to the same machine, the same USB port actually...no problem. Video jumps to HD after the usual 1-2 minutes and is stable.
I have a Gateway laptop, i3 CPU, 4 GB RAM, Win 7 Home Premium x(64) SP1. With the same Skype and Logitech driver versions, the C910 works with no problem.
On the problem machine I've tried earlier Logitech drivers and earlier versions of Skype. No difference.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to pin down why this issue just started happening, and whether it's a Skype or a Logitech (or some other unrelated) issue, I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance.
edit/update: I was just trying to show the issue to a friend. I started the call on the C510 and then switched the the C910 to show the problem. Murphy's law...it didn't happen. I switched to the C910 and when Skype jumped to HD it just worked. The plot sickens. ![]()
edit/update: 4/27/11 - Yesterday the C910 was worthless once again. Same problem...video freezing when Skype tried to change to HD. Again, the C510 worked with no problem. This morning the C910 is back to working again. I did install several Windows updates this morning and I'm hoping one of them solved this problem. I'm not holding my breath though.

I just bought the c910 and am experiencing the same problem. I noticed that there have not been any postings here since 2011-04-23. Does that mean that someone has found a solution, and possibly overlooked to post it?

The C910 has been working well for me since my last post in April. If you haven't already, you might update Skype to v5.5.0.115. Maybe it will fix your problem.

I'm having this issue with my c910 as well. I have the newest version of Skype and the newest Logitech software. Any ideas on how we fix this? My cam image freezes every 1-2 minutes. I can just click cam on and off and it's fixed, but what's the deal?
