It sounds like your video might be freezing when Skype tries to go to HD, which is usually after about a minute.
Have you tried waiting another minute or 2 after your video freezes to see if it unfreezes?
Does the problem surface with more than one Skype contact?
You said you have the latest Skype...if you check Help > About Skype does it show v5.5.0.117?

Well, assuming you see this problem with more than one contact I'm out of ideas. I'm guessing the issue is more Skype related though, than a problem with the C910.
You might try posting your problem on the Skype user forum with details about your system and the problem. Maybe someone there can suggest a solution.

For test try switch /maxmem = 2048 in boot.ini. It really helps, but OS(XP,2003 - 32bit) sees only 2gb of memory.
For win x64 - try find way in BIOS _disable NX bit_ - "Memory execute protection" (in gigabyte mobo for example) - switch to disable. In win 2008 R2 x64 works fine.

Turn off DEP in windows no make sence. Only in BIOS.

I have this problem also.
To solve this I made modification of
%AppData%\Roaming\Skype\shared.xml
file.
I added XML branch to the <Lib> node.
<Video>
<CaptureHeight>480</CaptureHeight>
<CaptureWidth>640</CaptureWidth>
</Video>
PS: I have AMD Phenom, 4 GB RAM, Windows 2008 Web Server x64.

I purchased this camera for Christma,s 2011 about a month ago and am using it on a PC running Windows 7 64 bit with all of the current OS updates installed.
I have this problem with Skype every day (my wife is in Canada on business) and last night I had it while doing a Google+ hangout. I have played around just a little bit with the Logitech software Quick Capture but not Logitech Vid but have not seen the freeze up there but as stated my time with those programs is very little compared to a couple of Skype calls a day.
My outgoing image freezes up and does not unfreeze unless I disconnect the call and phone back. My Skype webcame says I have the most up to date software and my Skype version is 5.5.59.124 which is also the most up to date.
My wife has the C270 Logicam camera and has had no problems.
Any suggetions that don't need a computer software programers degree to solve would be appreciated.
I think I will try to reinstall Logitech drivers and also try unplugging the USB camera cord and replugging it in to see if it unfreezes but this is a major nuisence for an expensive camera!

Skype has a beta version out, 5.7.0.137, that is very solid. You might try it to see if it's any better. It works great with my C910.
You can download the installer here: www.skype.com/go/getskype-beta

Thank, I will give the BETA a try. I did find that if the video locked up while on a call, unplugging the camera and then plugging in the USB again caused the image to unfreeze. Not sure if that indicates the issue is camera related or not.

I'm guessing your video is freezing when Skype is trying to jump from SD to HD. The beta version may fix that. Possibly. Hopefully. ![]()
