Installing C615 on an older XP SP3 Computer

I have an older XP SP3 computer, 2.4GHZ, 1MB Ram. I know I can not Skype in HD. I want to know if I can load the software to Skype at a lower rate without encountering a problem. I like the features of the C615 and I want a webcam that will still be state of the art when I update my system. I have never used a webcam so I do not know what kinds of problems I might encounter installing the software.

Hello Leapfrog41,

If you meet the basic requirements you should not have a problem installing the Logitech Webcam Software. During they installation you may be notified by the software if some features will not work.

C615

Basic requirements:
  • 1 GHz
  • 512 MB RAM or more
  • 200 MB hard drive space
  • Internet connection
  • USB 1.1 port (2.0 recommended)

The link provided below lists basic requirements for Skype.

Re: Installing C615 on an older XP SP3 Computer

Thanks for your help. I have watch so many videos on utube that I have really grown to like the webcam so it's nice to know that I can go ahead and buy it an give it a try. Could you please answer the following questions: 1. What does " base requirements" allow you to do 2 Can you tell me what resolutions I should be able to record and transmit at. 3. Also is there a step by step software installation guide I can review Thanks Leapfrog41

I have just ordered the C615 webcam which is UVC compatible. When I receive it can I just plug it in to the USB port and load my XP drives and start using the webcam to Skype without loading any software from logiteck?
