Hello Leapfrog41,
If you meet the basic requirements you should not have a problem installing the Logitech Webcam Software. During they installation you may be notified by the software if some features will not work.
C615
Basic requirements:
- 1 GHz
- 512 MB RAM or more
- 200 MB hard drive space
- Internet connection
- USB 1.1 port (2.0 recommended)

I have just ordered the C615 webcam which is UVC compatible. When I receive it can I just plug it in to the USB port and load my XP drives and start using the webcam to Skype without loading any software from logiteck?

Yes, you should be able to use the C615 with out loading the Logitech Webcam Software.
