I cannot make the Logitech B990 HD webcam work with Skype.
My new PC is running Windows 7 64bit.
1. Skype works with a C910
2. Using the B990 the webcam works locally
when I go through Tools to pick the webcam
to use.
3. However, when I try to have a video conference
with someone, everything works except my B990:
my picture is a white blank.
I have the latest version of Skype.
My guess is that Skype cannot handle the version of
h.264 that comes from the B990. The camera works
locally because the video is not really going through
Skype.
Is this true? What can be done?

I downgraded Skype to version 5.3.0.116, and Skype now works with the B990
when it is connected directly to the PC.
However, the point of a B990 is to work with a thin client. I have a EVGA thin client and host
card, and the B990 does not work with them. Here, I suspect that the problem is the usb
on the thin client: it is only usb 1.1.

Hello archn,
Although our HD webcams will work with USB 1.1, it is highly recommended to use 2.0 for video chat, and necessary for HD video. I agree with your speculation that the issue is the limitations of data transfer speed of USB 1.1 in this instance.
