Hello,
We have a Quickcam E3500 with us.
We are facing a very strange problem with the webcam.
We use Skype daily for video chat. We are using the webcam as a camera as well as a microphone.
For the past few months we are experiencing problem with the webcam.
The webcam stops detecting suddenly in the system.
Then we have to disconnect and re-connect the device to get it to work again. This happens daily.
It would be important to inform that we have the latest driver version with us installed currently.
We have tried connecting the cam to different USB ports from the system but the problem persists.
We are not experiencing any problem in any other USB device that we have (like our USB scanner).
Request everyone to please help if you have any solution or a possible way out.
Please inform if one feels there might be problems in the webcam itself.
Thanks,
avi_paragk

Hi avi_paragk,
I would try reinstalling the LWS but it will also help if you could provide more information like:
Which OS are you using (Windows 7, XP, Vista etc). ?
Did you make changes in your computer (such as an upgrade, installation of new software or automatic updates) before this started happening?

Hi,
We will try re-installing the drivers shortly.
However, we are using XP with sp3.
And we have not changed or upgraded our configuration in any way.
Thanks,
avi_paragk

Hello avi_paragk,
Have you tried reinstalling the software?
The software that this webcam needs to work is the Logitech Webcam Software version 1.1 for Windows XP 64bit OS or 32bit OS. It would also help to make sure your webcam is connected to a 2.0 USB port.
Looking forward to your reply,
Paulina
