I plugged in and installed my Logitech C510 webcam today, and for one reason or another I can only get it to turn on when in the Logitech Webcam Software. The computer can detect it when not in that software, but that is the only place were the little indicator light turns on and it detects an image coming from the webcam. It's not a problem with Flash, I already checked that. Any ideas?

What operating system are you using? Do you see any errors or notifications when trying to use other software?

No, I don't get an error message. When I try to use video chat websites that use flash, I get that little flash box that pops up and asks me what camera I want to use, what I want my settings to be, ect, ect. It always detects the camera just fine, but when I try to run a preview of what the camera is showing, nothing comes up. Like I said before, it's not a problem with the computer, or the aplications I am using, they always detect the camera just fine, but the camera never seems to recieve a command to turn on or do anything after that. It's like the computer pings the camera, the camera pings back, and then nothing. The light doesn't even come on. It does however work in the Logic tech software that comes with it, I open that up and camera comes on instantly, and the picture quality is pretty good to.

In order to narrow down what exactly is causing issue, please go to the following link.
Based on your description and trouble shooting, we can conclude that the camera is working. I suspect a permissions issue.
