Hi there JMCRE8,
Please contact me if you have managed to resolve this problem, or post here what you did to resolve it.
Thank you
Logitech says:
"First off.... ALL Instant Messenger (IM) issues are either "IM" or "networking" issues...they are not Logitech related problems...end of story."
In other words, Logitech dude, if the problem isn't your job, then it's simply not your job and you're not interested.
Yeah. We get a lot of that in Africa too. We are your CUSTOMERS. Are you not interested in helping in the least?

Hi JMCRE8
I have noticed that the FREEZE happens simultaneously to the Logitech menu application "getting the focus" if you know what that means. In other words, the Logitech software in the Task Bar becomes orange, and the video feed freezes in Skype. Personally, I don't think there is anything you can do about it, unless the "Not My Problem" dude at Logitech consults with the software developer who wrote the Logitech menu application. I will embark to dredge the endless internet forums for an alternative solution.
Please try and get in touch with me if you find a solution.
Thank you

JMCRE8,
Have you been using the Skype forums to find a solution to your problems? I am trying to but I am having some problems with it.
1.) I have registered and logged in, no activation email has been mentioned or received, yet I am unable to post a new topic.
2.) I am also unable to search the forums. I must be overlooking something but I simply cannot find these two functions. The search button at the top returned "The Ugly Duckling" joke in chinese when I searched "Logitech webcam software freezes skype".
This is so frustrating, having a NEW camera that doesn't work properly on a NEW computer, and nobody can or will help.

1) What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably... the USB\VID ID?
2) What Operating System (OS) and Service Pack (SP) version is installed?
Thanks.

Excuse me once more.
Is there not some way that I can operate the cam with the correct driver, but without the Logitech application software running?
Thank you
