webcam settings dialog box wont stay up! (Windows 7)

[ Edited ]

I've had this problem with both the Quickcam Pro 9000 and the Quickcam C910 HD. I'm using Flash Live Media Encoder, and when the camera is previewing, I try to adjust the settings (rightlight, exposure, focus etc) and when I try to go into the settings the dialog box will come up for a second, then immediately close. I'm not able to change anything because the settings won't remain up.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've tried this on two systems, both of which I opted to only install the camera driver and not the extra software/effects. The computer specs are below:

Dell Studio 1735 (Core2Duo 2.58ghz, 4gb ram)

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Flash Live Media Encoder 3.1

Quickcam Pro 9000

Zotac ZBOX (AMD Athlon Neo X2 1.5ghz dual-core, 2gb ram)

Windows 7 Home Premium

Flash Live Media Encoder 3.1

Quickcam C910 HD

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Re: webcam settings dialog box wont stay up! (Windows 7)

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum matix! :smileyhappy:

Does this issue occur when the Logitech Webcam Software (LWS) 2.01.1025 (a.k.a. QuickCam 13.01.1025) is installed?

Thanks.

13.1.1021.0 is the version that is currently installed. I'll try updating and post my results.

Re: webcam settings dialog box wont stay up! (Windows 7)

Does this issue occur when the camera is being used in other third-party video recording/broadcasting software (e.g., AMCap, Windows Media Encoder, etc...)?

Thanks.

I did not try it in other programs, as this computer is purpose built to use only FMLE. I went back and downloaded the latest drivers but it wasn't the one you mentioned in your earlier post. Downloading the drivers last night (9/28/10) yielded the ones I had previously installed (13.1.1021.0) so I believe i've got the version latest installed. However, I was able to find a work-around.

I went back and did a full install instead of just the device driver. I usually only install the camera drivers, enough to get it working with the operating system because I don't like or use all of the software that Logitech supplies with their cameras. I'm sure others find it useful, but I just want camera control. After doing a full install with 13.1.1021.0 the camera control panel pops up whenever the camera is accessed. This allowed me access to the settings I needed to adjust what I wanted.

It isn't the best outcome but it worked for me. Thanks for your help! :smileyhappy:
