I do NOT see a model # on this package, I have had it for almost a year, but never got around to opening it! Now I am wondering if I just need to sell it and get a different one!
It is a Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Deluxe! It is USB, and slips over the top edge of the notebook screen, microphone, 1.3 MP images, 640x480 VGA Video, etc. If there ARE different models of this and any numbers by the barcode would help identify this, I would be happy to provide them as well!
On the package it says the system requirements are PC: WIN 2000 and WIN XP!
My concern is I now have a MacBookPro, and do NOT like the built-in camera! I want to use an external camera, and I was TOLD by someone that as long as it is made by Logitech AND is USB, it WILL work with my Mac, even though it SAYS PC on it!
Can anyone here confirm or deny this? I don't want to open it if it won't work, so I can try to sell it and get more unopened! But if it WILL work, I would be MUCH happier as I don't want to spend any more money on another one! I am HOPING that, like I was told, this will just WORK if plugged into the USB port, and find it's own drivers, or that drivers can be downloaded to work this camera on my Mac.
PS, I put this under hardware, because I am trying to determine if this hardware will work with the MAC, before trying to figure out the software! i believe this is the correct place, but if not, please excuse this!
Greatly appreciate any information and help here! Thanks!

Okay, so will this be moved the the "general" section, or should I put a new question there?? Because I thought I wasn't supposed to re-post the same thing? And after reading your link I am still confused! I believe my OS is 10.5.5, but I am NOT sure, because I am new to Mac also! And I saw something about different quickcams, versions or models or something, 8.x.x or something like that, and I don't know what mine is, I cannot find that info on the outside of the package! So, if my Mac OS is 10.5.5, then if I understood what I read, then NO Logitech quickcam will work??
So, I am 'guessing' that this cam will not work with my Mac, but I would really just like this confirmed! Because if it is NOT compatible, I may as well just buy a cam from Apple, to ensure it will work with my Mac without issues, instead of getting another Logitech one that may or may not work!
I've been using Logitech products for many years, and this is the first time I have ever asked a question or had issues, and just need to be sure about this issue!

What is the 8xxxxx (or 860-xxxxxx) series number from the camera tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably...the USB\VID ID?
Thanks.
