Multiple cameras

Is it possible to connect multiple web cameras to the same computer so they all record at the same time?

I've been asked to record multiple events that are happening at my kid's karate tournaments. I thought I may be able to record audio/video from multiple web cameras at the same time.

Does this require special software or a different solution entirely? I don't need production quality video. Just something good enough for YouTube.
