Hi. I own three Logitech Webcams which I use for my wecam site, JerseyCam . They include a Communicate STX, a Communicate MP, and a Orbit MP. I would like to allow my visitors to view the cams when the lights are off, and was wondering if I bought some LED IR illuminators, would the Logitech cams be able to see in darkness? I tried to locate someone to email, such as a engineer, but could find no one. I'm hoping the people in the forums here could help me out. If anyone knows any particulars, such as the best wavelength to get, that would be most helpfull. I would like to know before I purchase a illuminator, so I don't end up wasting money on one.
Thank you in advance.

The camera lens assembly contains a built-in IR filter, so what you are trying to accomplish will not be possible.
Thanks.

gitemstevedave asks -
Does it block all IR light, or just certain wavelengths?
Please contact Logitech Support directly for further assistance with this issue.
Thanks.

The reason that I directed you to Logitech itself is because you will most likely get an answer faster that way.
Thanks.
