ORBIT MP, Movement and Follow me (one)

Bought the Orbit MP and isntalled all went fine. The USB port is USB 2.0.  With the follow me many, he issue is when using it the it only pans right and left in incriments and will not move at times to the right ( the same applies to up and down) and it can not keep tracking and stops at no where.  The other issue is the Follow me one, this doe not work as it only sits still and no movement or even zoom. Do I have a a bad unit or if any one has other rocmendations it would be appreciated.

Re: ORBIT MP, Movement and Follow me (one)

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum HF1khal! :smileyhappy:

So you are saying that the Face Tracking is not tracking you...correct?

Can you manually adjust the camera to scan full scale up/down/right/left with no "binding", etc...??

Thanks.

Re: ORBIT MP, Movement and Follow me (one)

Yes, but would this not defeat the auto tracking.  In any manner, I also down loaded the update for Pro 5000 and the software seems to do the same exact behavior along with choppy reults (quick movements blurs the output and also results in no tracking) .  I think I will be going back to teh original that came with the 5000.  ny Idea if the software of teh 500 would work with the Orbit MP?  Software version for the 5000 is 9.0.2?

Thanks

Re: ORBIT MP, Movement and Follow me (one)

The software applies to multiple camera models, not just one at a time.

It there enough light in the room, and does the Face Tracking calibrate properly?

Does your system exceed the minimum requirements?

Thanks.

Yes there is plenty of light in the room.  Can you be a bit motre clear on clibration, I do not see anything in teh software to calibrate other than pressing in the eye (which takes left - my let, for camera is right side) then back to the center.  When I put the software into follow me, it does not move accordingly or zoom properly.  It does the same.  I am beging to think that the follow me is a sationary thing where th came stays put and all it does is zoom in and out with no up/down/right or left movement.  The behavior that i got with the 10.4 is very unstable as compared to the prior one (based on using it with the pro 5000).  Also i see that light contol on the 10.4 to be much less effective than teh previous version that was installed on the PC.  In essence the menues were advanced but he oeprations were degraded. that is my view

Re: ORBIT MP, Movement and Follow me (one)

From what you have said, it appears your camera is calibrating properly.

Does the camera perform better on "the stick", or off of it?

Can you post a sample video showing the "mis-tracking"?

Thanks.

OK....I'll be standing by.

Thanks.

PS - I'm sure you are aware of this (FAQ #5336) -

"QuickCam Orbit/Sphere MP mechanical pan / tilt and face tracking is not supported when streaming above 640 x 480 due to USB power limitations."
