Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum pavilion! ![]()
This is a known and expected occurrance.
Every Orbit will exhibit this phenomenon to some degree (due to its design).
Thanks.
Please excuse the formatting of this post as this is the fault of the new forum WYSIWYG Editor. I will fix it once Logitech fixed the problem. Thanks.

All Logitech cameras come with a two year warranty (Ref: FAQ #3238).
If you are not happy with the performance of your camera, please contact Logitech Support directly and request an RMA (Ref: FAQ #53).
Thanks.

Hey all, there is a odd problem with my LogiTech orbit/sphere. As you may or may not know, when the pc is turned on first thing, the camera pans and then goes back to the middle, same effect when you click the home button in the pan/tilt settings bit. Its now started to get stuck while panning and clicks for a few seconds like its trying to pan further than it can and then its ok again! lol whats wrong with it?
Hi pavillion,
Unless you plan to use the Camera, leave the camera unplugged, because the gears inside the camera are made of plastic and become dry and brittle and crack. And that is what you are hearing.
If the camera is less than 2 years old, request a RMA to exchange or repair the camera. The Warranty of the exchange unit, will not be extended for another 2 years.
The PID Sticker is on the USB Cable not on the Base of the Camera and must be left attached to the USB Cable for Warranty purposes. Without that sticker, the Warranty is voided.
