Quickcam quits

Greetings,

After about 5-7 minutes of great video this camera just quits.  Ligts go off and on the USB hub it looks as if it has never been plugged in.  Unplug, replug and I'm good for another 5-7 minutes.  Giant pain in the ... well, you get the picture.

 

I've checked the USB chipset, no problem... reinstalled the software... problem continues.

 

 The camera is a model E2500 P/N 860-000114

 

Any ideas?

1) Which version of the Logitech supplied QuickCam software application/drivers is installed (FAQ #5105)?

2) What Operating System (OS) is installed?

3) Does this issue occur when you use the camera in the Logitech supplied QuickCam software application, or only in your third-party Instant Messenger program?

2. Windows XP

3. So far it's occuring when I use the Logitech software.  It's called when I go to adobe connect pro and/or just trying to record from my desk.

At one point a mouse and a memory stick.  Removed both, tried another USB port... same problem..

In your first post, you mention a "USB hub".


Are you referring to an external USB hub, or to the PC's internal USB hub?

I've used both the hub on the PC and an external hub.  Problem exists on either.

For reference, the use of an external USB hub is not supported by Logitech (FAQ #535 and FAQ #305).


Does the issue occur when the camera is installed on another PC?

The webcam is now working great directly from the PC and not going through an external hub.
