web cam that can be attach to standard tripod

In the past I used to be able to buy web cam that had standard tripod once you removed the standard base. In those days those seams to be a rare kind.

By luck would the QuickCam STX, which seams to have interchangeable bases/clips, be the king that can be screw to a standard photo tripod?
