I am running Version 2 Build 13.01.1025 of Logitech Webcam Software
Windows XP SP 3
AMD Quad Core 9950 Processor
4 Gigabytes RAM
When I first upgraded to this version of the Webcam software video effects worked. Now when I try and use video effects
the Calibrate for Video Effects window appears but no image appears - it remains blank. I have seen one other post on this subject but no fix. I have un-installed and (complete un-install) and reinstalled several times but to no avail. Why would it just stop working?
Lights levels etc are fine.
regards
JJD

Thanks KachiWachi. Did exactly as you suggested and reloaded the software with my anti-virus and firewall switched off. The video effects started working correctly. Unfortunately this is not the end of the story
Rebooted the machine and then they no longer worked. In fact I could not even get the white calibration screen up this time.
I figured that it might have something to do with the firewall or anti virus software as these services start-up automatically during a boot.
To cut a long story short I have found that one of the following three services are causing the conflict.
ToolbarBroker (AVG Version 11 Anti virus) ToolbarBroker.exe
AVG Watchdog Service (avgwdsvc.exe)
Identity Protectgion - AVG version 11. AVGIDSAgent.exe
I have not narrowed it down to any particular one yet.
With these three services disabled - on a reboot the video effects work.
If I then manually enable/start these services the video effects continue to fn. correctly
Its only after I set them to automatic and that there are started on a boot that the video effects no longer fn.
I have added all three (exe files names )to the Video effects application support library along with any other AVG process that are running on my machine but this has not cured this problem
Any further suggested would be appricated but it looks as if there is a clash here between AVG Version 11 (free version) and the logitech software.
regards
jjd

Okay thanks
I have narrowed it down to the Identity Protection fn. which I have disabled in AVG 2011 version - video effects now work fine.
