After purchasing my new webcam the fun filters were working, but they have mysteriously stopped. I've tried reinstalling normally and a "clean" install, but still, nothing seems to help. I see the items in the menu, but nothing happens when I click on them. I have saved content using the filters, so I know they worked before. Since then I haven't made any changes to my computer or installed any new programs. I am running XP sp 3.

What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?
Thanks.

Yes, this occurs when the camera software is installed (the software is my only access to the filters).
There is a slight discrepancy with the numbers though.
On the menu:
Preferences > About Logitech webcam software: Version 2.10, Build 13.10.1224
On the menu:
Quick capture > Controls > Advanced settings > Device info: Driver version 13.10.1216.0
I have tried the original CD (which is a few weeks old) with and without my firewall (to ensure all automatic updates), as well as an updated executable installation file which I received through Logtech's email support. Unfortunatley email support just keeps telling me to reinstall the software until it works, or buy a new computer.

I have noted the status of "Process Monitor" as follows:
Status: Stopped
Startup Type: Automatic
Log On As: Local system
If I click on "start" it says the service has started, but when I exit and re-enter services.msc the process is listed as stopped.

So, I found out that the avast! antivirus program was interfering with the service "process monitor". No matter what I did process monitor would not start properly, and my effects wouldn't work. Avast was unnable to help, and said they would make a note of the problem for the future.
Basically, if I uninstal avast, everything works. If avast is installed, even if I deactivate all its features and services, the effects don't work and process monitor won't start. Not quite a solution, but at least I know why the effects stopped working.
