910 Webcam ONLY has 15fps???? SERIOUSLY??

[ Edited ]

I run a youtube channel and I wanted a webcam to record for videos at my desk.  So I bought the 910 webcam from logitech after hearing all the great reviews.

But all the videos I record with it are at only 15fps!!?!?!  **bleep**?!?!  So when I bring in my videos to Adobe premiere, their HD settings don't allow 15fps and I have to render out at 24 fps....THAT MEANS THE AUDIO AND VIDEO ON ALL MY videos doesn't match up perfectly when I publish to youtube.

HOW IN THE [edited] do you get the frame rate on the 910 up to at least 24fps??  Someone help me.

Re: 910 Webcam ONLY has 15fps???? SERIOUSLY??

Obviously with the LACK of replies to this thread, its impossible to adjust the frame rate beyond 15fps.  I will be returning this product and leaving a review at everyplace I see selling the 910 online.

AVOID THIS CAM!

Re: 910 Webcam ONLY has 15fps???? SERIOUSLY??

KachiWachi, I don't understand your post.  I installed the software that came with my 910.  Do I need to install something else?  I don't see a link for a Quickcam download.  Can you post the link to download the Quickcam software?

How is this different than the software that already came with my 910 cam?

Re: 910 Webcam ONLY has 15fps???? SERIOUSLY??

Ok I installed the latest version software for my 910 and I STILL CANNOT FIND WHERE TO UP THE FRAME RATE TO 30FPS!!

Is this FALSE ADVERTISING?!?  How can you call something HD when it only has 15 FPS?!?!?!

Re: 910 Webcam ONLY has 15fps???? SERIOUSLY??

No way you will get 30fps @ 1080p. Bandwidth is more than USB2 limit. C910 is a nice web cam for skype, not more. If you want real HD you should buy a camcorder, not $100 webcam.

Yes.

As stated in the aforementioned thread, the video recording default for Logitech's Quick Capture software application is 15 FPS.

In order to capture live video at 30 FPS, third-party software will be required.

Also, for reference, here is the resolution / frame rate information for the C910:

Re: 910 Webcam ONLY has 15fps???? SERIOUSLY??

[ Edited ]

30 fps at 720 is no problem:

Uninstall the Logitech drivers by installing the generic UVC Microsoft ones (after the system restart you sometimes have to repeat this once). In the settings of that driver I think there is also a setting that is similar to RightLight, which you need to disable. You then need to use the MJPEG stream of the camera.

At 1080p 30 wont be possible, but around 25 fps is possible with this method.

However, most 910s make slight artifacts at such "high" framerates. Thats ultimately why Logitech limited their software and drivers to 15 FPS. I dont find the artifacts that bad, though. They pop up sometimes and are pretty small.

Example of these artifacts you can see here:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iJXy8wRqhE

Look at the lower edge, right side.

720 would be perfect.  Its only for youtube anyway.  I will try the Microsoft software.  Do you have a link where I can find it or will Google bring it up for me?
