A webcam was not found or is not working properly (Windows 7 64bit)

[ Edited ]

So i have an E100/E1000 quickcam . Now i went to change some of the RightLight settings but found them greyed out unlike before and when i then went in to view my webcam from within the logitech software  i got the "A webcam was not found or is not working properly" error message

I tried unplugging it from the Front USB ports and then plugging it into the one of the USB ports  on my motherboard but still this didn't work, I then uninstalled the drivers and software for my webcam then restarted my PC and installed the logitech software and drivers on  again but this didn't work either, i even tried the Reconnect button in the logitech software but nothing happened. The webcam still works within the application i use but as i am unable to adjust settings it makes things difficult

I am running on Windows 7 64bit and up till now i have not had any major issues so not sure what to do.

Re: A webcam was not found or is not working properly (Windows 7 64bit)

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum darklighthim! :smileyhappy:

What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?

Thanks.

The series number is 860-000091.

I am also running the most up to date software as it tells me that it's up to date when trying to update it via the software.

Re: A webcam was not found or is not working properly (Windows 7 64bit)

Does this issue occur when the Logitech Webcam Software (LWS) 1.10.1113 (a.k.a. QuickCam 12.10.1113) is installed?

Thanks.

Re: A webcam was not found or is not working properly (Windows 7 64bit)

Yes the issue occurs when the LWS is installed.

The webcam seems to function as it should when in use in compatible programs  it but i am unable to get it to show up in the logitech software therefore it wont let me change any settings like exposure, gain, brightness...etc which is what i want to do

As stated i removed the drivers plus software and reinstalled them to no avail plus i moved the USB from my front panel connectors to those on my motherboard again to no avail.

I've never experienced this before and had i not needed to changed any settings i would have never noticed anything wrong.

Please try reinstalling the Logitech Webcam Software "clean".

Thanks.

Re: A webcam was not found or is not working properly (Windows 7 64bit)

I did a clean un-install then re-install of the software and webcam drivers but this didn't fix the problem.

I will try again though  in case i didn't do it right the first time.
