C270 Webcam on linux?

[ Edited ]

I'm thinking of buying the C270 webcam. Logitech says the camera uses something called "Fluid Crystal" technology:

"What is it? Fluid Crystal is a proprietary algorithm that automatically adjusts the frame rate, color and sharpness to provide the best possible picture and motion."
http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/69/7507

Is this something which is implemented on the hardware side, so I would benefit from also on linux (debian), or is this something which is only software-implemented with the Windows drivers, and therefore no performance improvements will be noticed on linux?.

Any first hand experiences with this webcam on linux?.

TIA.
