I am having the same problem have you found anything out ? This is what I have run into.

I am running windows XP homes edition on my Dell OPTIPLEX GX240. I bought this web-cam Logitech HD C270  & went to download the CD. I got the message  that is not compatible to my system Windows xp home to get a  compatible version to contact you.  I also need sound drivers in my HP computer RUNING WINDOWS Vista Ultimate. I want to use the web-cam on both computers.  I have not been able to get free drivers. I keep getting programs that you have to buy in order to get the drivers. I don't want the programs I just want the drivers. Can you give me the name of a web site that will give the sound drivers. Can you help me ? Thomas

Both of the operating systems mentioned in your post should be able to use Logitech Webcam Software (LWS) 2.30 with Vid HD

The sound drivers that your Vista system is asking for are probably found on the manufacturer's web site .
