Hi everybody,
My webcam software crashes Windows without any error message. It just resets the Windows and there is no error message on the black screen.
I have the following hardware configuration:
- Athlon XP 3200, MB Abit NF7 S, 512 RAM, display adapter nvidia Geforce FX 5200 (Winfast A340 TD), Logitech Webcam C910.
Firts of all, I want to say that this webcam worked fine until a moment when I installed some Windows updates last year. Since than the software of webcam crashed Windows everytime when I tried to connect. So I decided yesterday to install a fresh Windows copy.I have installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Sp3 and all updates. After that I installed the drivers for video and audio (NViDIA(R) nFORCE(TM)) and I upgraded Windows Installer at version 4.5.6001.22159 . The next step was to install the latest software for Logitech webcam C910 from the web site. When I tried the Logitech VID or Logitech Webcam Software - Quick Capture the system crashed. There was no error message.
Please tell me what can I do to make this webcam to work.
Thank you.
Cristian

Hello lonescu,
I believe that video card has TV out and it may be using the Windows imaging drivers, this could cause the issue you have described. There may be a clue to the source of your issue in your system event logs. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427
You may want to try the camera while in clean boot to determine if there is a service or application causing the issue.
Best Regards,
