I am a musician and I purchased the c910 to make guitar videos.

When selecting an external source for the microphone input on the logitech webcam software, I am experiencing a very noticable poor compression of audio quality. It sounds like its converting the audio to a very low bit rate mp3, it sounds squishy and undefined compared to other audio capturing software

Is there any driver update that can fix this?

Hey guys, Im having a similar issue. But not with the camera's mic. There is some sort of bad conversion going on, even when i select a different audio input source.

I know about turning off the "right sound" for using the camera's mic, but when I select my audio interface as the mic input Im experiencing degredation of the sound on that as well. Not anywhere near as bad as the right sound thing, but like the high end is squishy sounding like the audio is being converted to a low quality mp3.

Anyone know how to fix this? Its kind of dissapointing, I bought the webcam assuming i could record high quality video from it and simultaniously high quality audio from my audio interface.

Hello lowalkoroc,

Go to the Logitech Webcam Software settings and choose the Quick Capture tab. You will see an audio recording quality drop down menu.

hello! unfortunatley this does not work. this is only increase file size but sound is compressing as usual

You are right its the software, as I record with something else and the audio is crystal clear.  Logitech can you guys please add PCM recording codec with high bitrates...  As the software is great I like the interface and the c920 has amazing video quality.
