Hi duc_bkav,

Unfortunately, Logitech does not provide Linux drivers for the C920. You may want to look into using UVC drivers as they might allow you to use your C920 with  the Linux OS.

Thanks,

Re: C920 Logitech Webcam Linux driver!

C920 seems to work out of box with Ubuntu 10.04. I tested it with Cheese and Skype. There might be some added Windows specific functionality but probably nothing of value is missing.

Re: C920 Logitech Webcam Linux driver!

I can confirm this works on Ubuntu 11.0 out of the box.  Works with Cheese and Skype.  Works with Google Voice/Video and works on DYNDNS.

Have you tried the CENTOS forums?  The camera should work out of the box since it is compliant to Linux distros out of the box.

Hi there. I'm interested in buying the C920; could someone [using it in Linux] tell me what resolutions the UVC driver supports? For example, can I use it to take a full 15 MP photo? Thanks very, very much!!

EDIT: To clarify, sometimes the Linux UVC driver will not expose all resolutions that a webcam supports, either in video or still photo capture (compared to what the hardware supports, as exposed by the Windows driver).

Re: C920 Logitech Webcam Linux driver!

Greetngs all,

I am running red hat enterprise linux 6.3 and the webcam works out of the box on both cheese! and Skype. I was able to test several different resolutions on cheese.

So far so good.

But I'm looking for software to control the camera. On Windows 7 when I start the camera in an application, a web com control window pops up that lets me zomm in and out, pan left right up and down, etc. Are there any similar controller programs available on Linux?

Thanks

Calvin

Re: C920 Logitech Webcam Linux driver!

As one of the other replies says, you don't need a special driver because the C920 follows a standard (called UVC) which is supported in modern Linux distros.

In future, though, I would strongly recommend that you check for Linux support before buying any device, not afterwards. This can save you a lot of trouble!

Re: C920 Logitech Webcam Linux driver!

I have my C920 running under OpenSUSE Linux.  See the end of the discussion at C920 driver for Ubuntu VersionX, Fedora VersionX,...  Hope this helps you.

Re: C920 Logitech Webcam Linux driver!

Hi,

I'm considering to buy a Logitech C920 WebCam, but just if it works on Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.11. In this forum i read it works with Ubuntu, but it is not specified which version. I also found this link where it says C920 is uncompatible with Ubuntu 12.04.

Can anybody tell me if it still work on Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.11?

Regards.
