Cannot record videos with Logitech HD C260

I've bought a Logitech HD C260. Plugged it, installed the drivers and the software in the CD. Restarted the PC. But when I start the Webcam Software, I can see myself when I click on the Quick Capture. But when I click record it just counts 3 2 1 and nothing happens. Same with taking photos. Also when I click on the Controls, I cannot click on the Webcam and Mic options. I can only alter the resolution and change if it's widescreen or standart. 

 

The calls are fine. Logitech vid HD software tested by recording and playing a 10 second video. It worked. But I cannot record anything myself. I made a clean install but still nothing changed. 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

1) What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?

2) What Operating System (OS) and Service Pack (SP) version is installed?

The series number is 860-000270

 

I have 32 Bit Windows 7 Ultimate. I do not know how to check the SP version

Does this issue occur when the Logitech Webcam Software (LWS) 2.10.1224 (a.k.a. QuickCam 13.10.1224) is installed?

I've installed the software from the CD.  The version is 2.0 Build 13.0.1783.    When I check for updates it doesn't do anything but I'm now downloading the latest software from the website. I'll try installing that.

I updated the software by downloading the latest version from the website and now I can record. 

 

But I from the controls section I still cannot click on the Mic and change it to my other one. 

 

My main problem is solved though. Thanks.
