Disable UMVPFSrv.exe startup with Windows

Is it possible to disable the service UMVPFSrv.exe from starting up automatically with Windows? It's listed in Task Manager as Logitech User mode UMVPF service.

Hi kitkit1795,

Unfortunately UMVPFSrv.exe does not show up in the startup items category, so in order to prevent it from loading with Windows, you'll have to disable it all together. This can be done by following the steps below:

- Start Menu > Run (XP)/Search box (Vista/7) > Type msconfig
- Click on the Services tab
- Uncheck UMVPFSrv
- Choose Apply and then OK
- Restart your PC

Once your computer loads back up, the application should no longer be running.

I hope this helps!

Re: Disable UMVPFSrv.exe startup with Windows

Hello

I am going to disable it on my system as well, but what does it do and will it break anything by not having it enabled. I have a C910... and have not installed motion detection, video effects or logitech Vid (i.e. I just have the webcam software and drivers installed).

Regards

Hi xZenicus,

No, disabling the service UMVPFSrv.exe will not harm your webcam or system. However, if you ever choose to use the Video Effects, Face Masks, and Avatars then you will have to re-enable the service.

Re: Disable UMVPFSrv.exe startup with Windows

I'm having problems with this too. I'm making an application with C++ and openCV and some sockets work. It is all ok if CPU usage is less then 90%, but when it reaches 90% or 91% ir starts adding some frames from the past int to frames I read from webcam. Do not know why it is happening. I have installed logitech drivers for C615 webcam. I didnt enabled any motion detection or masks, but it is doing something for no reason. Maybe you will fix this? And for now I'll disable it :smileyhappy:

Re: Disable UMVPFSrv.exe startup with Windows

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum RamuLT! :smileyhappy:

1) Which version of the Logitech Webcam Software application/drivers is installed?

2) What Operating System (OS) and Service Pack (SP) version is installed?

Thanks.
