HD C510 not detected/recognized in Logitech Webcam Software lws200, lws201 (Windows 7 64-bit)

[ Edited ]

P/N: 860-000261

Version 2.0 Build 13.01.1025

Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

PC built from parts, Intel i5-750, Gigabyte P55-UD3R

In Logitech Webcam Software it says "No webcam detected".  Webcam controller does not work.  Quick Capture is able to get photos and video, but without access to controls and advanced settings. Program crashes on exit (every time) and gives error messages like this:

Problem signature:

  Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

  Application Name: Launcher_Main.exe

  Application Version: 13.0.1774.0

  Application Timestamp: 4be4bf5c

  Fault Module Name: VFXCore.dll

  Fault Module Version: 13.0.1778.0

  Fault Module Timestamp: 4beb076d

  Exception Code: c0000005

  Exception Offset: 000101fc

  OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3

  Locale ID: 1033

  Additional Information 1: 0a9e

  Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

  Additional Information 3: 0a9e

  Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

When I first installed the camera a month ago it worked fine.  I'm not sure what may have changed between now and then.  Tried clean install for both lws201 and lws200, same problem each time. During installation the "check webcam and microphone" is blank: http://i55.tinypic.com/eurg48.jpg

My Device Manager contains "Logitech HD Webcam C510" under "Imaging devices" and appears to be working correctly.

My registry does contain the following values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\

{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

(Default) --- REG_SZ --- Sound, video and game controllers

UpperFilters --- REG_MULTI_SZ --- ksthunk

{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}

(Default) --- REG_SZ --- Imaging devices

UpperFilters --- REG_MULTI_SZ --- ksthunk

The webcam is listed, selectable, and useable in Microsoft Expression Encoder 4.

Re: HD C510 not detected/recognized in Logitech Webcam Software lws200, lws201 (Windows 7 64-bit)

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum Frisco Bill! :smileyhappy:

1) What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?

2) What Operating System (OS) and Service Pack (SP) version is installed?

Thanks.
