Here is a list of previously floated topics (in no particular order) that may be of use to you in solving your current issue.
 
Also...please make sure that your Forum Viewing Preferences are set to -
 
  • Display Settings - "Linear Format" (Use Default)
  • General Settings - "Sort Threads by Newest Message Time" - checked
  • Linear Format Settings - "Oldest to Newest / Date Ascending" (Use Default)

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

This issue was corrected in QuickCam 10.x. If you see this error with QuickCam 11.x, please contact Logitech Support directly for assistance with this issue.



My camera is not detected/works intermittently, and I am using a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch, hub, port replicator, docking station, extension cable(s), third-party port adapter or converter, y-adapter, and/or other USB pass-through device.

These devices are not supported. Please reference FAQ #535 and FAQ #305 for more information.

Per FAQ #12712 -

When using USB hubs, video degradation can occur due to cable length and power available to the hub (e.g. self powered or not).

All four FAQs contain the same information, and should apply to *any* camera.



*Certain* user applied settings are not saved when the PC is "cold started", or when the camera is unplugged/replugged.

This is by design.

Laptop (Built-in) Camera Support

Logitech does not provide technical support and/or software updates for cameras that are built into your laptop PC. Please contact the OEM (e.g., Dell, Acer, etc...) for assistance with these cameras.



When I am using the camera, my wireless Internet connection drops.

This is a known issue that affects *certain* laptop computers, and desktop computers that utilize a USB wireless adapter.

Please contact the laptop/USB wireless adapter manufacturer for assistance with this issue.

Note - In order to get maximum performance from the camera, it must be the only device attached to the USB Controller in use (Ref: FAQ #3139).

Audio playback is "sped up".

This issue can be caused by the installation and/or incomplete removal of the Logitech supplied LVUSBSta.sys "lower filter".

The camera video and/or camera microphone does not work in my third-party Instant Messenger application.

When I record music with the camera microphone, the audio is "distorted".
When I record my musical instrument with the camera microphone, the audio is "distorted".
The camera microphone is "too hot".

While the exact camera microphone specifications have not been released by Logitech, the general consensus is that it is designed for the "normal" human voice range only.

"Webcam is in use" message appears ( **UPDATE** )

Logitech has recently released the following FAQ on this issue:

'Camera in use by another application' error message on your QuickCam Pro 9000 (FAQ #9177)

'Camera in use by another application' error message on your QuickCam Communicate STX (FAQ #9212)

‘Camera in use by another application’ error message on your C500 (FAQ #12671)

‘Camera in use by another application’ error message on your C250 (FAQ #14119)

All four FAQs contain the same information, and should apply to *any* camera.


Technically speaking, the appearance of this message means that another application has a handle open to the device.

If you are sure that no other application is using the camera, please contact Logitech Support directly for assistance with this issue.



My McAfee Anti-Virus or other software is complaining about LVPrcInj01.dll in %windir%\Temp.
Microsoft's SQL Server 2008 will not install (Restart Required).
