Re: LVPrcSrv.exe uses 99% CPU

I am trying to sync all my data to a new external 2TB hard drive ... each time the transfer slows to a crawl and and the system becomes almost completely unresponstive.  I though my sync software was to blame but its Logitechs defective process monitor thats to blame.

If you want to easily reproduce this issue closely monitor Lvprcsrv.exe while using SyncBack to access a large number of files.

This is rediculous because I don't even have the camera attached.

I am very disspointed with logitech that they have failed to address this problem.  Yes most users probably don't generate the type of system activity that causes Lvprcsrv.exe to fail ... but that is no excuse for such poor customer service.

Re: LVPrcSrv.exe uses 99% CPU

Oh I forgot to mettion that after several hours of Lvprcsrv.exe running crazy I get message like "Insuffcient resources exist to complete the requested service" when attempting to run software.

Agan if you want to reproduce this use sycback to accesss an copy about 2TB worth of data while the lvprcrv.exe is doing its monitoring!

Re: LVPrcSrv.exe uses 99% CPU

Anyone still having this issue, uninstall the software you have and install the newest software from logitech

32bit:

ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/quickcam/lws110.exe

64bit:

ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/quickcam/lws110_x64.exe

This should fix any issues you have.

Re: LVPrcSrv.exe uses 99% CPU

I'm having this very same problem with the very latest software on WinXP.  I recently installed a Logitech web cam  QuickCam® Communicate Deluxe™ (S7500) and downloaded and installed the latest software from Logitech's web site, which is identified as version 12.10.1110 (drivers) and 12.10.1113 (webcam software).  The next time I attempted to run my Microsoft MSVC compiler to compile a bunch of open source software, it ran a very short time, and the computer went to 100% busy, all in program LVPrcSrv.exe.  It was so busy, that mouse movements were jerky, and responses to clicks basically didn't happen any more.  I had to press the reset button on my computer to get it back.  I tried it all again, same result, 3 times in a row.  I'd say this problem is NOT fixed.

I really wonder what I can do.  Unplugging the camera didn't help.  I guess I can try killing the LVPrcSrv process before starting the compiler.  I don't mind having to take some MINOR action to disable the camera software before compiling, but If I find it necessary to uninstall the Logitech software to run the compiler, I'm not going to be a happy camper!  I think I'd be pretty uninclined to ever reinstall it again, in that case. :smileysad:   Hope Logitech can find an answer soon.

Re: LVPrcSrv.exe uses 99% CPU

[ Edited ]

Seeing the letters Srv in the name LVPrcSrv.exe, I figured it was a new system service, so I looked in Windows services control panel to see if it could be stopped there, but it did not appear among the services listed there.

So, next I just killed LVPrcSrv.exe and reran my big built (set of compilations) and they all ran without any problems.  So far, so good.

When I was done with those, I wondered how best to relaunch LVPrcSrv.exe.  I thought that perhaps if/when I started the "Logitech Webcam Software" program (which is LWS.exe) using the desktop icon, it would restart LVPrcSrv.exe, but it didn't.  Then came my next surprise.  Seems that the web cam works just fine without LVPrcSrv.exe.  Skype didn't seem to need it.

This begs a new question: What does LVPrcSrv.exe actually do, and what software needs it?

What would stop working if I just got rid of LVPrcSrv.exe?

Re: LVPrcSrv.exe uses 99% CPU

I'm facing the similar problem too. I'm compiling Platform Builder 7 in Visual Studio 2008. I'm developing the OS image for window embedded compact 7 (EC7).

It is most-likely a bug from Logitech!

I almost didn't aware why 100% cpu usage nuisance. Initially I was though my code /work got the problem. But the true is Logitech that caused me a problem
