Hello,
I recently purchased the Logitech 9000, and am using it on my Windows Vista based PC. Whenever I use this camera, my computer works fine for a few minutes, then crashes to the blue screen of death. Sometimes it will restart, sometimes it will just hang. I always have an audible chirping/clicking noise through my speakers when this happens.
I first noticed this issue when using 3rd party software with the webcam gmail video, skype, etc.. After reading various posts in this forum to confirm whether it is a true logitech compatibility issue, I tried this with just the logitech quickcam software. Using this software, I still get the same crash problems with no 3rd party video software running, which makes me believe this is a logitech driver issue, or related to some conflict with the logitech driver.
I have updated to the latest logitech drivers 11.80.1065.0000, and am unsure how to proceed with troubleshooting this issue.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

What is the EXACT BSOD that you receive?
Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response.
Windows gives me the following information when I restore from the BSOD:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033
Additional Information about the problem:
BCCode: 124
BCP1: 00000000
BCP2: 847763F0
BCP3: B2000000
BCP4: 00070F0F
OS Version: 6_0_6001
service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1
Files that help describle the problem:
C:\windows\minidump\mini012009-03.dmp (not sure how to access this file, doesn't appear to be a text document - for being a windows OS created error dump file, the windows suggest a program list was exceptionally unhelpful)
c:\users\...\appdata\local\temp\wer118F.tmp.versio
Windows NT Version 6.0 Build: 6001 Service Pack 1
Product (0x3): Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium
Edition: HomePremium
BuildString: 6001.18145.x86fre.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612
Flavor: Multiprocessor Free
Architecture: X86
LCID: 1033
On the actual BSOD which doesn't last that long, amongst the text something that stands out is ""Unrecoverable Hardware Error"
Let me know if there is more information you need. If necessary, perhaps I can photograph the BSOD when it appears, as it doesn't typically last long enough for me to write anything down when I am trying to troubleshoot the issue.

I do not have the very quick crash that typically occurs, however, I will test this more this evening to see if it crashes. There is some obvious performance degredation that has occurred as a result of losing the logitech software and/or driver, but I presume this test will drive us towards understanding what is causing the issue so I can correct it and reinstall the logitech software.
I will post back tomorrow evening with the results of whether I get any crashes or not. Thank you for your support thus far.
Edit: An unforseen side effect - the microphone is not working on the webcam as a result of this test; not sure if that is normal, or perhasp indicative of the microphone being part of the issue?

The WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x00000124. This bug check indicates that a fatal hardware error has occurred. This bug check uses the error data that is provided by the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA).
Comments
Parameter 1 identifies the type of error source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error condition.
For information about WHEA, see Windows Hardware Error Architecture Design Guide.
Thanks.
