Logitech C170 driver problems

[ Edited ]

Hi there, I recently bought C170, and when I plug it in windows 7 (64-bit) automatically installs its drivers (windows generic). So I've downloaded the full installer from the site and everything goes smoothly, the camera is working good, I can see myself and the mic is working. But there are two problems:

1. Windows sees the camera as USB video device, with windows drivers from 2006

2. When I go to adjust the image quality (quick capture) I get some weird dialog and not the cool Logitech one

What has happened is that Installer installed all the software, but the drivers for my cam remained the same windows generic drivers. I have tried manual driver change, but alas my C170 is not on the list.

Please help!

P.S. I have tried, uninstalling the cam and then waiting for the Logitech installer to tell me to plug it in, but still I wind up with the same Windows drivers

P.P.S. I think what I actually need is the *.inf file for C170 because I can't find it anywhere

Re: Logitech C170 driver problems

Bump.

If there are no Logitech drivers for this cam, just tell us so we can move on with our lives and warn people about it.

Re: Logitech C170 driver problems

Hi VladimirZecevic,

You are correct for imaging devices you will only get the Microsoft UVC drivers as designed for the C170. The rest of drivers such "Sound, video and game controllers" are Logitech drivers.

Thanks,
