What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably... the USB\VID ID?
Thanks.

Dear Logitech,
I'm in the same situation as QuickCamer and have exactly the same questions and remarks as he does.
First of all, I, and many others, don't like to be forced to buy hardware every two or three years.
I bought this Logitech product with the idea that Logitech provides quality and, as a big player on the market, would be able to cope with further OS developments and would design new drivers for their products as new OS were launched.
By buying Logitech, which is "slightly" (read double) more expensive than an unknown brand, I thought it would be supported for the next 3 or 4 generations (or even more) of OS's. But, if I have to throw away this webcam, and face the same issue whith the next Windows release, I'd rather throw a webcam away which costs half the price.
Kind regards,

I must say after reading your post that their would be "millions" of people that share the same sentiments.
Especially when one can buy a cheap cam for under 10 bucks online that will suffice for the basics of use of chatting with good enough video quality to see whom your chatting with.
Cheers,
Craig.
