Problems with installing Quickcam 9.5 on my new desktop

I've been browsing but don't find anyone with exactly my problem. I have a new desktop which I have installed using XP. Once I have installed my Quickcam 9.5 I can see that it works (video/sound) although once I shut down the computer a viscious circle starts. The computer keeps starting up and shutting down. I have to stop the process with F8 and remove the webcam software in safe mode order to repair. Is my web cam 9.5 which is only about 2 years old or so already useless?

What is the 8xxxxx (or 860-xxxxxx) series number from the camera tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably... the USB\VID ID??

QuickCam 9.x/10.x/11.0 (and unofficially QuickCam 11.1)

Please try upgrading the camera software/drivers to QuickCam 11.1.0.2030.
