Thx for the quick answer! Well, I'm using the specified camera model, but I can't believe that supported features depend on whether the web cam is black or silver?!

Okay, "video effects missing" is solved. At least for my case. I was not aware of the fact the Logitech sells a new model of the Pro Cam (with the same name as the old one). I bought my one new for 26 Euros at ebay. I didn't notice before that there are two models and this one is so cheap because it is "outdated" ...

I will say this has caught a bunch of people...bad move by Logitech IMO to re-use a model name like that.
