QuickCam Communicate MP S5500 - No Sound, Program Crashes, Shutdown Fails, Product Fails (Vista)

[ Edited ]

To whom this may concern,

I have a QuickCam Communicate MP (S 5500), it is not working right, it crashes after a few minutes of use, crashes the program I'm using and then does not let me shut down my laptop properly.

The version of the software that I'm using is 11.7 (Vista Ready Edition)

I used the program with Skype and Ventrillo.

I downloaded the latest version of Logitech QuickCam software, but it has not solved anything. As well as, I have the Vista Edition of LogitechDesktopMessager.exe running in the backround, but it doesnt help.

I have included the current OS and hardware on my laptop.

I would appriecate any help that may be provided.

Thank you!

Windows Edition

Windows Vista Home Basic

Service Pack 1

System

Manufacturer: Dell

Model: INSPIRON 1501

Processor: AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL - 56  1.80 GHz

Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum Vyache! :smileyhappy:

Does this issue occur when the camera is installed in UVC Mode?

Thanks.

Your camera *might* be defective.

I would exchange it for a new one.

Thanks.

I exchanged the QuickCam for a new one and tested it out. I got the same problems with the new unit.
