Hello.

I am using QuickCam Communicate STX Version 11.1 for Win XP Prof.

When I open the Logitech Webcam software, the webcam icon does not display in the toolbar. The 'Show webcam icon in windows toolbar' option is turned off so that the icon does not display on start-up but I thought that the icon is displayed in the toolbar 'automatically' each time the program is opened.

Someone must be familiar with this software.

It is not necessary to include a screenshot as it is a simple question.

The answer to your question is "No", it will show up when you restart your computer..

I do not think that you 'read' my question carefully.

The setting is 'turned off' which means that the program icon will 'not' show on the desktop when the computer is restarted.

What I am asking is this: Why is the QuickCam icon 'not' displayed on the desktop 'while' the program is open? Usually, an icon is displayed on the desktop when a program is open.

Is it because the setting has to be turned 'on' to be displayed when the computer is started up in order for the icon to 'also' be displayed on the desktop when the program is opened?

The Logitech QuickCam icon should always be on the desktop whether the software is open or closed. Apparently, you could be having some issues with the software, and may want to contact the call center so they can help you troubleshoot the problem.
