QuickCam Fusion (Windows 7 64-bit) - Unable to install software

Hi I have just purchased a new HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with an in-built webcam and have thus far been unable to install any compatible software for my QuickCam Fusion.

I have tried to install using Logitech Webcam Software 1.1 (and 2.1) as suggested on the product page but I received the "incompatible webcam" message. I have also tried QuickCam 11 (64-bit) and QuickCam 10.5 (64-bit) as suggested in the ALL POSTERS - REQUESTS FOR SOFTWARE/DRIVERS thread but these installations are not surprisingly both blocked by Windows due to compatibility issues (they are apparently meant for XP). LWS suggests to unplug any other webcams so i disabled the in-built HP MediaSmart webcam but this did not help with installing my QuickCam webcam.

This webcam was working perfectly on my previous laptop, on a Windows 7 32-bit operating system.

P/N: 861196

OS: Windows 7 Premium 64-bit

PC: HP dv7 Pavilion - AMD Phenom 2.8Ghz Processor, 500GB Hard Drive, 4GB Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics

Thanks,

Daniel

Unfortunately, this camera is not supported on Windows 7 64-bit. :smileysad:

Thanks.

Re: QuickCam Fusion (Windows 7 64-bit) - Unable to install software

So you are saying that there is no way to get the Fusion to work under Win 7 64 bit?  I need to just throw away the cam and buy a new one?  You can be sure I won't be buying a logitech camera.

Harabed asks -

So you are saying that there is no way to get the Fusion to work under Win 7 64 bit?

What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?

Thanks.
