QuickCam Pro 9000 - Flickering Video (Vista x64)

[ Edited ]

Just purchased this webcam.  I've tried installing both 11.8 and 11.9.  When I test the video, it's constantly flickering.  Kind of like it's snapping pictures 2-3 times a second...  I guess its really low fps.  Anyone else have this issue?

My system:

Quad core

4gb of ram

9800gx2 vid card

X-fi soundcard

Vista 64 SP2

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 - Flickering Video (Vista x64)

None of those are my issues.  I have good lighting, my image isn't distorted, I'm not video chatting.  All my drivers, BIOS, etc are up to date.  I just recently reinstalled Vista a week ago and grabbed all the latest drivers.

If this is an issue with my 4gb of memory, this Logitech camera is going back to the store.  It's ridiculous to have to limit myself to under 4gb for it to work.

I tested the software/camera on my laptop and it works perfectly.  My laptop is a dual core with 2gb of ram, running XP.

Are there users out with similar system specs that can run this webcam?  Vista 64 with 4gb of ram?

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 - Flickering Video (Vista x64)

My image is not distorted, blurry, grainy or whatever.   Picture is sharp and fine.  The problem is flickering/blinking.... kind of like watching a slideshow.  Light is not an issue since my laptop runs it fine in the same room.

And I don't have the memory remapping feature in my BIOS.  I have an Abit IP35 Pro.  I guess I can try taking out a stick of RAM in order to test.  What a PITA, for $100 I expected this to be easy.

Please provide a sample video that illustrates this condition for evaluation.

Thanks.
