Hi to all,
A few days ago I found my old Quickcam Pro 9000 and thought of using it with my workstation. I connected it and tried a lot to get it work but sadly nothing did. Cam is always in use by another application.
My model is:
My OS is win7 x64
What did I try so far?
Cam is connected at a usb port ("Usb Enhanced") of the motherboard. Tried also USB hub and other usb slots but it doesn't make a difference.
I tried the "clean" uninstall then install + clean boot and even tried the UVC. The problem that appears is "cam is in use by another application" always. I tried many driver versions including the LWS 1.10.
In another post it was indicated that adding UpperFilters with ksthunk to:
in registry would resolve that but I checked the registry and there're present already so in my case it didn't resolve the issue.
So I though that it might be an hardware issue with the cam. For verifying that I connected the cam to my Windows XP notebook and tried it. The UVC driver worked directly so it can't be an hardware issue.
I'm already out of ideas what else could I do to get it working?

This issue is normally caused by another device, software or service using the imaging drivers. An imagining back up software can be the cause as well as printer/scanners software. There have been reports of remote access software also causing the in use by another application error. Click Start >> type in sysdm.cpl in start search >> In the System Properties, go to Remote Settings >> Disable Remote Assistance. Did you try the camera while in clean boot?

I tried tried clean boot and disable remote service but cam still brings the same error.
I checked the error file to get a more detailed error message. What I could find is:
No such interface supported. (0x80004002)

The No such interface supported. (0x80004002) message is a generic error basically telling us what we already know. The image drivers are in use. I do not see any thing definitive in the diagnostic files. Do you see any errors in device manager?
