QuickCam for Notebooks Pro - P/N: 861209 - Camera not detected

I'm having problems getting a Quickcam working on my notebook. The camera is not detected when plugged into the USB port. I've removed and re-installed the quickam software but can't get it to work. Not sure what to try next, any help would be much appreciated.

Camera : QuickCam for Notebooks Pro - P/N: 861209

OS:XP professional

SP: 3

Camera is not detected by Logitech "support and downloads" - "Detect your device".

Installed Quickcam 11.1 (qc1110.exe).

No cameras are shown  in the windows "device manager".

Hello Simon_R

Here are some steps that you can try:

-Check the device manager for any entry for an "unknown device". If there is an unknown device, right click it then click update driver software and try to update the drivers automatically.

-Try different USB ports

-If possible, test the webcam on another computer.

Re: QuickCam for Notebooks Pro - P/N: 861209 - Camera not detected

Thank you for the suggestions.

-There are no unknown devices.

-symptoms are the same on all three USB ports on my PC.

-I've tried the camera on a Windows 7 desktop machine - it'snot sensed.

I fear the camera hardware has failed.

Hello Simon_R

It might be a hardware failure. Try contacting the Logitech Support team of your region for a possible warranty claim (refer here).
