Quickcam Express Installation - Asks me to plug webcam even though it is already connected

I have already connected my webcam to the computer. And I can confirm that it is being recognized as well because I was able to find out the model of the device using the auto-detect feature on logitech.com/downloads. However, while the Quickcam express installation is happening, I am not able to get the software recognize the hardware. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

I had same issue. It's common for us user to plug something in as soon as we get it out of the box.

In my case, i unplugged it, restarted the install with the software CD, and then plugged it in when prompted. worked fine after that.

Re: Quickcam Express Installation - Asks me to plug webcam even though it is already connected

Hi Icemancometh

Thanks for your input. As suggested, I unplugged the webcam and tried running the lws110.exe file which logitech suggested is the driver file for the webcam on my Windows XP 32-bit computer. However, while I run the file, the first step it asks me is to plug in the webcam. When I do this, Windows prompts it as a new hardware and takes me through a parallel hardware installation process that seems to not recognize the appropriate driver file.

Yes...I hated that about XP...lol

Cancel the XP installer and go with the Logitech one alone. See if it works then. It should be fine.

Welcome to the Logitech Community Webcam Forum anond! :smileyhappy:

What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?

Thanks.

Re: Quickcam Express Installation - Asks me to plug webcam even though it is already connected

Hi Kachiwachi

Here are the details I could find:

M/N : v-UAP9

P/N : 861170-0000

PID : LN62287

I am not sure what the USB ID is, but here is a number I could find written directly over the USB port (501484-C000). There is a HC SH written below this number.

Thanks a lot for your help.
