Hi!
Since quite a while I've got a Quickcam Orbit/Sphere MP webcam and I'm very satisfied with it. I love the picture quality and the movable lens.
Shortly after I've bought it I started having a small problem and now I'm really sick of it, so I wanna ask for support.
So always when starting the computer or connecting the webcam to the PC, it initialises itself by turning the lens into a corner and coming back to center position. This worked fine in the beginning. But now it moves to the corner and the motor does not stop, so the lens continues to try moving and since there is no way of it moving further I get this annoying clicking sound when it always bounces back from the corner cause of the pressure
It's hard to explain but in short: the webcam always overspins itself when initialising. After about 7 seconds it stops and goes back into center position.
I can't explain how this is happening. I did not do anything with the cam from the point where it worked and where it stoped working.
I hope you can give me a solution for this problem !!
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey, I also have the same problem!
I have the following hardware:
QuickCAM Orbit Sphere MP
M/D: V-UAY22
P/N: 861305-0000
S/N: LZ703BP
I have the following software:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Logitech Webcam Software 1.1 (64-bit)
I have verified from your support listing:
That I have the correct software installed and that my camera is supposed to be supported. However I am currently having a problem whereby whenever the webcam is plugged in, or upon a fresh boot with it already plugged in, the camera overspins to one side and makes a continuous clicking sound for about 4 to 5 seconds and then centers.
I never had the problem before and I was afraid that maybe it was causing damage to the camera so I tried leaving it unplugged and then uninstalling and reinstalling all the drivers and software but it still doesn't work. Is this problem know and is there a solution?

Ok,
I actually called Logitech support and they told me that there is a hardware problem in the camera itself. Unfortunately I bought the camera a while back so it was out of warranty. They did offer me a discount on a future logitech purchase though and it was good enough considering that the CAM is still functional visually; though not mechanically. Overall better than nothing. Good phone service though.
