Quickcam software problem Vista x64 Ultimate

Everytime I reboot my computer keeps crashing i.e. It keeps coming up with a window that states that Quickcam.exe has stopped working

 

The details that it comes up with is as follows:

I have the x64 version of the software that was installed when I upgraded from the 32-bit software. Where it worked fine.

 

The drivers are fine, as the webcam does work, but just not the software.

 

Had this problem since last April when I upgraded to Vista x64

What is the 8xxxxx (or 860-xxxxxx) series number from the camera tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably... the USB\VID ID?

This is what it says in the setapi.log

 

The location of the SetupAPI log file has been changed.
The new location is: D:\Windows\INF

Which doesn't make sense, since D: is the cd\DVD drive

It must of done, since 11.80.1065.0 is the an update

ah, right, I will do something with the permission of the windows folder, and re-install Quickcam, I will let you know if it has solved the problem or not
