Hello piper69

Try installing the software in clean boot. To boot clean in Windows:

For Windows 7 and Vista:

Accessing the System Configuration Utility

1. Click Start type msconfig in the search box and press Enter

Configure Selective Startup options

1. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
2. Uncheck Load Startup Items
3. Select the Services tab
4. Check  Hide all Microsoft services
5. Click  Disable all
6. Click on OK
7. Click  Restart.

After installing the software, restore your system by doing the following:

1. Click Start and select Control Panel
2. Click System and Mantience
3. Click Administrative Tools
4. Double click System Configuration
5. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
6. Click Ok
7. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Windows XP

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
6. Click on the Services tab
7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
6. Click OK
7. Click Restart

After installing the software, restore your system by doing the following:

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
3. Click OK
4. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer

Hope this helps.

Hello piper69,

The software that the C920 webcam needs to work properly is the LWS 2.4 and it is supported on Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Please make sure that you have the right version of the software installed, that your webcam is connected to a 2.0 USB port and that your computer meets the requirements, which are:

For basic functionality:

CPU Minimum  = 1.0 Ghz
CPU Recommended  = Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz or better
RAM Minimum = 256
RAM Recommended  = 2GB

For HD video:

CPU Minimum  = Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz or better
CPU Recommended  = i7 Quad Core 2.6Ghz or better
RAM Minimum  = 2GB
RAM Recommended  =4GB

It would help a lot if you could tell us on which Operating System you are trying to install the webcam.

Looking forward to your reply,

Hello piper69,

I see that you already tried the trouble shooting we suggested and the C920 is still not working with the LWS software. I'm going to forward your information to a different department so we can take a deeper look into this issue.

Just to be clear, could you please confirm this information and provide me with the extra information needed:

  • The webcam is working with Skype without the LWS installed.
  • You were able to run the Smart Installer but not the Full installer with a clean install.
  • Could you please specify if you are on a 64 bit or 32 bit OS?
  • Could you please send us the MSINFO file information? To get it you can follow this path: Start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>System information

I will let you know as soon as I get an update.

Thanks,

Paulina

Re: Software wont install "doesn't meet system requirements..!@@!$

i'm having the same issue with my brand new C920

my system;

Windows 7 Home Premium, version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601

i7 cpu @ 3.20Ghz, 6 core, 64 bit (x64)

18GB memory

cam info;

C920

Model number V-U0028

i tried installing the LWS240c90, but it keeps complaining about the system requirements.

i also tried the clean boot trick, but no luck, still the same issue

any other suggestions?
