Re: System Crashes when I try to use my QuickCam Chat

[ Edited ]

My wireless adapter.  Which I currently do NOT use.  Belkin.

I kept that on my computer  for future use.  Would that interfere? And if it did, would the interferance be great enough to cause a system crash\reboot?

Re: System Crashes when I try to use my QuickCam Chat

Alrighty.  So I followed a post on these forums to allow me to see the blue screen error on my computer and, I got these BSOD codes:

0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x804ED79F, 0xF78FFB48, 0xF78FF844)

Also, I tried to remove my wireless adapter (As I don't need to use it anymore), and it wouldn't let me.  I got THIS BSOD code: 0x80040707.  I've contacted Belkin Tech Support as to how I can fully remove the wireless adapter.   (though, if you know, I am all-ears)

Thanks for your time.

Re: System Crashes when I try to use my QuickCam Chat

Bug Check 0x7E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

The SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug check has a value of 0x0000007E. This indicates that a system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.

Cause

This is a very common bug check. To interpret it, you must identify which exception was generated.

Parameter 1

0xC0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation occurred.

Parameter 2

0x804ED79F: The address where the exception occurred.

Resolving the Problem

Parameter 2 (the exception address) should identify the driver or function that caused this problem.

Check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver that is causing bug check 0x7E.

Thanks.

Re: System Crashes when I try to use my QuickCam Chat

This is confusing me now. How do I know which event it is?  There's so many... And when I find it, what do I do with it?  I thought I found it, but The only thing I could see to do, was send Microsoft the information on the error.

As for the link you sent me about Belkin, that confused me.. greatly.   And belkin's tech support is... apparently not too bright.

"I've tried removing it in everyway, but it wont let me.. Uninstall, add\remove programs, etc."... Their reply "To to Control Panel\Add/remove programs, and uninstall it."

lol.
