I am must have misunderstood. This forum is a Logitech forum (without auto-spell check as default?). Knowing this forum to be part of thelogitech.com domain, I signed up and assumed I would interact with Logitech experts. Why should I have to go ask someone else for help when this forum? I thought, would be monitored. Isn't this forum listed under "Support" on Logiyech's wesite? Yes, it is. So what's all this with the refernce to support?
Rant over. I'll just fix the darn thing myself.

I have an arrow through my head again!!
OK. Here's how I got the darn effects back - in 10 minutes.
1- Using Revo Uninstaller, remove EVERY Logicect product. (setpoint, etc.). Select the "advanced option." DO NOT reboot when a software uninstaller prompts. Otherwise, you'll miss all the extra deletion power of Revo! Select all items, remember to click delete, then click next until finished. Reboot.
2- Unplug webcam if plugged in. Reboot either way.
3- Delete the Logitech folder "LogiShrd" within "%boot/Program Files/Common Files" folder. Make a shortcut to the "Logitech" folder and rename it "LogiShrd." (it still gets re-created so I question this requirement.)
4- Install the most current webcam software available.
5- Enjoy.
6- Hope re-nstallation of uninstalled Logitech software causes no harm.
What does it all mean? I believe the OTHER LOGITECH software with the old path may have conflicted in some way. Like I said earlier--
WHO'S BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT TO CHANGE THE FOLDER NAME?? -
PEACE.

No problem. When I re-installed Logitech's Wingman game control panel, it broke the effects feature in the webcam software. No amount of effort corrects this messed up scenario. What a disappointment. This is sounding more and more like a Logitech problem to me. But that's just me ;-)
PEACE
ps - As another post eluded to, I never thought Logitech would do this to us.

After forgetting this issue for awhile, I found myself Skyping to Thailand with an arrow through my head!!
I had been having startup issues, a few hangs and/or freezes. Suspicious of PC Tools' Spyware Doctore, I used Revo to uninstall the works.
No more problems now - knock on silicon forest products!
PEACE
ps - Hopefully, the saga will NOT continue.
conclusion: I wouldn't bet money on any of my "fixes" or theories, LOL. It works now so...cool.

My PC is back to behaving normally (screaming!) now that PC Tools' Spyware Doctor is gone. I read a review saying Windows Defender is a strong solution. So far so good.
BTW, I need to find a different area to post a new Logitech issue to. It seems my cordless Freddom 2.4 cordless joystick is malfunctioning. Long story but the windows game controller control panel demonstrates thi probable "short?" I tried fresh batteries twice. I canuse the rubber twist (or trigger and like two other buttons) only when the stick is moved forward. So, I crash on takeoff (single-engine fighter with massive torque - crash! If I get off the ground, I can only use my rudder and trigger when in a dive. Needless to say - I get dead - a lot.
Any links or ideas?
Thanks!
