I am developing custom software using your QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac.
I am able to control many features via a objective-c UVC class (auto focus, exposure, white balance, brightness, contrast ...)
All I need is to be able to change the absolute focus.I use the Universal Serial Bus Device Class Definition for Video Devices Revision 1.1 as reference. It suggests to useCT_FOCUS_ABSOLUTE_CONTROL 0x06 for Camera Terminal Control Selectors. But the focus does not change.
Can someone provide me with the needed information to allow focus control.
Thank you,Stephan Schulz.

Hi stephanschulz,
I would suggest posting your question in the QuickCam Team developers site.
Thanks,

In the mean time, while we eagerly await the software, how do you control the contrast/brightness/white balance/gamma/colour and saturation of this quite expensive camera? It hates high contrast and burns out the image fairly quickly. I am a professional cameraman and understand these problems but would love to have control as if it were a version that runs on a PC WITH control!! Its a shame as it spoils the potentially brilliant (and only decent Mac) product. Why is it so difficult to do this? Auto everything is always a bad idea.
Thanks in advance.

KachiWachi,
Thanks for message but I am NOT looking ofr developer info at all. All I want to do is control this camera like you can most other cameras.
Logitech web site quotes"The QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac is a fully supported plug and play device for Macintosh 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard). "
I dispute this fully supported bit, , as I am TOTALY unable to control ANY of it's features. White Blanace/sturation/contrast etc as they are ALL auto! I have a piece of junk I purchased some years ago for £12 that I can do all this with on my PC but when I get an expensive product for the Mac I am stuffed. It is like getting in a car and expected to drive it with the steering lock on!!
So!!! How do I get to control these functions with your software please?
best regards,

Since the first post in this thread is a request for "developer" related information, it is assumed that all further posts in the thread also reference this same topic.
Since you are looking for "end-user" related information, you should have posted your question to a New Message.
Nevertheless, please see Support for the QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac (FAQ #8578), and the following post, for more information:
