Re: Webcam Pro 9000 + Win7 64-bit (LWS 2.10) not working

USB 2.0 ports.  I keep the USB 3.0 ports available for other things (though in previous testing I did try using the 3.0 port to see if there was any difference, but there didn't seem to be).

Re: Webcam Pro 9000 + Win7 64-bit (LWS 2.10) not working

So I did a little more testing around and maybe I've got a faulty camera?

Uninstalled the LWS software, unplugged all USB stuff (even my tethered Samsung Fascinate Android phone which I use for internet access), then rebooted.  I've moved around my other USB items to various ports that the camera hasn't worked on, and everything's working as expected, so I think my mobo's USB ports are good.

Camera was plugged into a USB2.0 port and Windows saw it fine.  Went into Skype, configured it to use my camera and everything was OK so far.  Went to reinstall the LWS2.10 software and it failed because it was trying to download stuff and I had no internet access as my phone was unplugged.

A minute or two later the system made the now-familiar "a USB connection has been unplugged" sound (though I hadn't touched anything) and sure enough I couldn't get the camera back no matter which USB root hub it was plugged into (I have two USB2.0 root hubs on the motherboard).   Perhaps the aborted installation cause the loss of USB camera connection?

Does this issue occur when the camera is installed on another PC?

Thanks.
