Webcam software external microphone cutting out

When I am using the logitech webcam software (Which I love except for this really annoying issue) my external microphone (a Blue snowball microphe which works fine with other recording applications) will work for a couple second the first time I record and then it will not work again.  I have gone as far as to disable all other recording devices on my system to make sure that wasn't the problem, but it is still not working properly.  The microphone on the webcam works just fine, but it cuts off the external microphone constantly.

 

I really need some help with this as the software is starting to frustrate me to no end.

What is the 860-xxxxxx (or 8xxxxx) series number from the camera's identification tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably, its USB\VID ID?
