Why is my Logitech HD webcam c270h not working?

I just bought this webcam at Walmart today, and was really hoping to use it quickly. However, after installing it, I found that it wasn't working. The computer recognizes the USB, but the webcam itself won't turn on (I haven't seen the green light turn on yet). I've already scanned my computer for Malware, restarted it, but it still isn't working. Help???

 

Also, I uninstalled, then reinstalled it, with no avail.

What operating system are you using? What do you see when the Logitech Webcam Software is started and quick capture is clicked?

Thanks for answering!

 

I'm using Windows Vista. What I see when I click Quick Capture is "No Logitech webcam Detected", a picture of a webcam, and then "Check to make sure your webcam is properly connect to the USB port, then press the reconnect button."

 

I've made sure that the webcam is connected correctly to the USB port. Really my only problem is the fact that the green light isn't turning on, because the computer does recognize that the webcam is there, you know what I mean?

How do I 'make sure' I installed it properly? I've already uninstalled it, restarted it, then attempted reinstalling it. No change there.

If possible, please test your C270 on a different computer. If it works as expected on the other system, try your installation in clean boot mode. http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/228

Please check device manager for errors and update the drivers manually.
